Dr. Jennifer Grandis, as part of a collaborative team of researchers from all over the country, has made some astounding breakthroughs in treatment for those suffering Head Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma (HNSCC). HNSCC is a devastating disease that often leaves sufferers disfigured or disabled, often with difficulties speaking or swallowing. Dr. Grandis has discovered the genetic composition of the afflicting tumors, thereby leading to more effective ways to treat them in a more individualized, patient by patient basis. Over the past 50 years, HNSCC has had a survival rate of only around 50% - Dr. Grandis believes she can help greatly improve that statistic.
