Honoring Loved Ones Through Special Gifts
A memorial gift to the Eye and Ear Institute through its supporting Foundation is a special way to honor the memory of a loved one, friend or colleague while helping to change or save the life of another. The gift may be made by you alone, or it can be several gifts by a group of people such as family, neighbors or fellow workers.
A Gift in Honor is a special way to recognize a person or persons, favorite teacher, doctor, friend, or a special occasion or event such as a birthday or wedding anniversary. A letter of thanks and for tax purposes is sent to the donor, and a letter also can go to the person or persons you would like to be notified, letting them know a gift has been made. The amount is not mentioned. You can make a memorial or honorary gift by filling out and mailing in our downloadable gift form. Please be sure to note the mailing address of the person(s) you would like to be notified. If you have lost a loved one and would like to have gifts directed to help fight a particular disease or condition, here is sample language: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to _____________________ (for example, Research for Macular Degeneration), c/o Eye and Ear Foundation of Pittsburgh, 203 Lothrop Street, BST S119, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
